Mock Tracer Methodology: Surveying Your Own Organisation

Run internal tracers that find real gaps instead of confirming what you hoped.

Advanced · 3.5 study hours · Quality & Accreditation

1. Program overview

The tracer is the core survey technique: follow a patient, a system or a medication through the organisation and see what actually happens. This course teaches you to run tracers internally — selecting patients and pathways, framing open questions that elicit practice rather than recitation, observing without disrupting care, interviewing frontline staff supportively, recording findings usefully, and feeding results into improvement. It covers individual patient tracers, system tracers such as medication management and infection control, and how to build an internal tracer programme that runs continuously.

2. Why this program
