1. Program overview
MRI incidents are rare, sudden and severe, and they almost always involve someone who did not understand that the magnetic field never switches off. This course covers the static field and projectile risk, zone control and access, screening patients and staff for implants and foreign bodies, gradient and radiofrequency hazards including burns, acoustic noise, contrast considerations, quench and emergency procedures, and the specific responsibilities of non-imaging staff who enter the environment — porters, nurses, cleaners, anaesthetists and emergency responders.
