AI and the Nursing Voice: Participating in Clinical AI Decisions

Nurses are the largest professional group and the least consulted on clinical AI.

AI and the Nursing Voice: Participating in Clinical AI Decisions

Program overview

Survey evidence from 2026 shows nurses use clinical AI substantially less than physicians and are far more likely to say their views are never reflected in decisions about it — despite being the group whose workflow AI most often reshapes. This course is written to change that. It covers where AI touches nursing work specifically, how to evaluate whether a proposed tool will help or add burden, how to articulate a workflow objection in terms procurement will hear, and how to participate credibly in evaluation and implementation groups. Practical, direct, and unapologetically written from the nursing standpoint.
