Medication Safety Essentials

What is Medication Safety Essentials?

Follow one busy morning at the fictional Northbridge Medical Centre. Across five modules you will trace the medication-use journey, examine high-alert and look-alike/sound-alike risks, reconcile a patient’s medication information across a care transition, weigh the role and limits of safety technology, and turn a near miss into system improvement. All patients, medicines, organizations and events are fictional and for education only — no dosing, prescribing or treatment decisions are taught.

FAQ

Questions people ask

Does this course teach drug doses or prescribing?

No. It is about medication-safety systems and processes. It does not teach dosing, treatment regimens, drug selection, or clinical dosing calculations.

Are the patients and medicines real?

No — every patient, medicine, organization and event is fictional and for education only. Always follow your organization’s policies and approved references.

Will I be asked to change a patient’s medication?

No. Decisions focus on verification, communication, escalation, safe process and system improvement — never on independently changing treatment.
