Evidence-Based Practice Essentials
Bring the best available evidence to the bedside, combined with clinical expertise and what patients value.

What is Evidence-Based Practice Essentials?
Evidence-based practice (EBP) integrates the best available research evidence with clinical expertise and patient values to guide care. This course introduces the EBP process: turning clinical uncertainty into a focused PICO question, searching efficiently for evidence, understanding the hierarchy of evidence, quickly judging whether a source is trustworthy and applying findings to practice. Examples come from medicine, nursing, pharmacy and allied health.
