Accreditation Readiness: Tracers & Survey Day
Walk into survey day calm and prepared, with evidence ready and staff who can explain what they do and why. A hands-on, scenario-based readiness workshop built around one fictional case at Northbridge Medical Centre.

What is Accreditation Readiness: Tracers & Survey Day?
Accreditation surveys assess whether an organisation consistently meets standards for safe, high-quality care. Whichever accreditation body you work with, surveyors use similar methods: tracers that follow a patient’s journey, document review, staff interviews and direct observation. This interactive, intermediate course explains how surveys work, how tracer methodology uncovers gaps, what evidence stands up to review, and how to answer surveyor questions honestly and clearly. You follow Maya Hassan’s fictional outpatient journey through Northbridge Medical Centre, practise distinguishing observation from inference, build an evidence map, run a structured mock tracer, and leave with a readiness action plan for your own unit. The course is international and vendor-neutral: it teaches the shared methods rather than any one body’s clauses. Every organisation, patient, staff member, document and finding is fictional and for education only. It does not invent official standards, universal survey sequences, retention periods or scoring thresholds, and it never advises concealing deficiencies, fabricating evidence or altering records.

Questions people ask
Is this course specific to one accreditation body?
No. It teaches the methods shared by most international and national accreditation bodies, so it applies whichever standards your facility follows. It does not reproduce any body’s official clauses, sequences or scoring rules.
When should we start preparing for a survey?
Readiness works best as a continuous habit. Many organisations run mock tracers regularly, not only in the weeks before a survey.
What should I say if a surveyor asks something I don’t know?
Be honest, explain how you would find the answer — such as checking the approved source or asking your supervisor — and follow up. The course practises this directly.
Can a whole department take this course before a survey?
Yes. Contact AIHCM about organisational enrolment so your team prepares with the same tools.
